The 9/11 Truth Movement. Please take note!

I have to say that despite all the hurdles which have tripped up various folk in the movement to uncover the real events of 9/11, we have gotten one thing right, and that is laying claim to the title "Truth Movement". This is a very effective psychological plus, and one of which Karl Rove would have been proud, that is, if he was on our side of the fence! Just a couple of short years ago, the phrase "nutty conspiracy theorists", rather than "9/11 Truther" was the operative descriptor for anyone who doubted the official version to any extent.

To many in the mainstream, that may still be true, but judging by a number of recent opinion polls, exactly what is the mainstream position of the American public on the government's 9/11 explanation? In a recent CBS poll, only 16% implicitly believed the government's story: 53% believed they are covering up something, and 28% believe they are outright lying, while 3% didn't venture an opinion. An MSNBC poll found 62% of those polled thought that the government were covering up the truth. Although not strictly a scientifically rigorous poll, the sample size was significant, with over 70,000 respondents! If the poll had been done to scientific standards, the percentage of those believing the government story may have been larger.. but it might also have been smaller.... one never knows! A recent CNN poll yielded an extraordinary result, while other polls from Zogby and Scripps have also yielded quite a zing, albeit not quite so spectacular.

The mainstream of thought regarding the validity of the government's own conspiracy theory is thus now in some considerable dispute. Just from personal experience, I talk to people from all walks of life, and from all social , cultural and economic backgrounds, and quite often the subject of 9/11 comes up. A couple of years ago, my position would have been widely regarded as "weird", but now, I find many people are at least in some degree of concurrence, and some people even go further than my current position. I am finding more and more that the people are starting to be able to reflect on that day in a more rational and dispassionate light, now that time has rendered the raw edges of shock and emotion of that awful day a little less jagged. People are beginning, en masse, to realize the impossibilities, improbabilities, absurdities and bizarreness of the Bush Administration's wacko story, and not just in America, but all over the world. Even rural English market towns have their own 9/11 Truth branches! Here is one of many examples! The more digging that people do, the more convinced they become that the basic things that they learned from the mainstream media are not only very wanting, but also plainly bogus.

We are starting to circle the wagons. But there is one thing of paramount importance for anyone in the Truth Movement to be aware of, and this is as follows:

Don't publicly theorize with insufficient knowledge. We do not know for sure, and much of the necessary evidence has either been destroyed (illegally), or is being kept secret. The only people who know exactly what went down that day are the perpetrators, and of course they are not saying anything. We may have to wait for a "deathbed confession" for a full answer, and that may never be forthcoming.

If you start hypothesizing, armed with not enough of the necessary facts and figures to put forward a scientifically rigorous and unimpeachable theory, some other party, armed with the facts that you don't have, will punch holes in your case. This flawed approach is how the "turf" problems arise: Someone's "Theory A" is seen as flawed, or incomplete, by another party, who puts out their version, "Theory B", and insodoing, attacks the other theorist by default. Then a third party "C" puts out another version, with facts that have not been taken into consideration by either "A" and "B". And so on, and so on. When one realizes that the entire 9/11 scenario is multifaceted, and this petty squabbling is embroiling so many different parties, addressing all the numerous facets of 9/11, then one can appreciate just how complex this interparty petty battling and bickering has become. Disinformation from official parties is also a large part of the equation and has been used to inflitrate all aspects of the attacks, to further muddy the waters, or even poison the well. All this serves to take energy away from the researchers in the 9/11 Truth Movement; the parties who stand to gain by this petty squabbling amongst their nemeses, are the perpetrators, who calmly sit back in their well accustomed Macchiavellian way, and say "just perfect, let them fight amongst themselves".

The only surefire way of bringing down the mass murderers of 9/11, is to ASK THE DIFFICULT QUESTIONS, and keep on asking them. Be like an angry pitbull, and grab hold of any exposed and verifiable anomaly and absurdity, or lie, or contradiction, and bite as hard as you can, and don't ever let go. We have no shortage of issues and anomalies; there are literally hundreds of them. For some people, it maybe the issue of the presidential Secret Service detail's conduct, together with that of President Bush himself, and the truly extraordinary things Bush himself has said, on the record, about that day. For others, it may be the issue of why jets were not scrambled to defend the East Coast. For others, the blatant contradictions between the NTSB's FDR data for Flight 77, and the government's story of what happened at the Pentagon may be the issue that gets them at at.

We must not try to construct a story about any aspect of the attacks, unless we have all the facts about that particular aspect of the attacks at our disposal. And those facts have to be verified, or reported by a mainstream source, or be peer reviewed, or more. Without taking out these insurances, we are doomed to potential ridicule. The opposition is not only very powerful, but they are now very frightened by recent turns of events; unlike their heady days of 4 and 5 years ago, things are not going their way, and they will seize upon anything to discredit their opponents. So, now is the time to ask the questions, and not make up stories with incomplete evidence. At some point, the pressure of conscience will get one, or more of the perps to squeal and confess. Let them tell it the way it happened, prodded by relentless questioning, rather than trying to second guess them, based on an incomplete picture.
